gtf24 Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 I've won a few boardings against NPC's from missions, but there is never anything in the "vessels" field. I have read that you can, in fact, capture ships from missions, but I am skeptical, as this game is updated often, and I know that missions have been reworked recently. People keep mentioning that the captured ship will be in the lower-left hand side of the post-battle menu, which I assume would be the only ship listed in the "vessels" field. Is this not where the captured ship should be? Or have missions been nerfed so that you can't amass resources from them? 1
Henry d'Esterre Darby Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 Yes. If you do more damage than your AI fleet, you should be granted the ship if you, in fact, captured it.
Admiral 8Q Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Yes, you can capture a ship in a mission. I've done it.
kitsunelegend Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Yes you can in fact capture ships from missions. My current Snow I use for hunting contraband traders is one I captured from a mission I did with a friend of mine. Also, are you hitting "X to capture" after winning the boarding? I know people have said you don't have to do this, but I always do it anyway for good measure. (in case something breaks and I don't get it after just winning the boarding, the game is still in alpha after all)
Marten van de Voerde Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Always press X. Once I had not and suprise, no prise in post battle screen. U can always go back to your main ship afterwards if you want to cap something else, all ships "tagged" as captured will be there in vessels list of post battle screen.
Mighty Bouff Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 if you board a ship that is sinking it may in fact sink immediately after you win the boarding in which case you think you've captured it but it has sunk and so will not appear on the results screen. 1
