CptLavish Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 Just a few question concerning ships and the like. My friend and I have been playing 2-3 days now and we are getting to the point where were deciding to try our hand at some hard trading. 1. We both have a traders brig, and I have a trader snow as well that I captured. Concerning speed and hold the snow seems to be better so would it be worth capturing another t-snow for my friend? Or do the t-brigs have something that I don't know about? I know the brig has aft guns which are good if retreating but the snow is faster by like .4 I believe. Thoughts? 2. Should we not focus on us both being in trading ships and try to attain a defensive escort ship? We're French in the southeastern part of the map and have not had any threats besides a ballsy player privateer that tried to attack us both in cutters. He didn't win. Should we bother? 3. Should we stay south or explore north towards america and see how the trade is up there? More just a question to save time. Thanks guys, I know you all have probably answered some of these before many times but I was unable to find a direct comparison to the ships and my other questions.

A Trade Brig is still great for trading though. 2. Should we not focus on us both being in trading ships and try to attain a defensive escort ship? I'd say you should have a fighting ship each that if needed, you can use. As for escorts, if you're doing mostly trade, build up your fleet to maximum.. Should we stay south or explore north towards america and see how the trade is up there? That's up to you.
