Kamelkaze Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 It should be possible, that faction-owned ports/towns get unhappy if there are no presence and trades within a specific time. If the happiness reached bottom, the town will get a takeover to neutral. I think this helps to get more dynamic into the game and maybe helps to avoid wipes on maps. 2
Mulcaster Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 This is a good idea, but it would take a fully developed economy to realize. Every town could have needs that have to be met through imports--food, cloth, luxury items (the game already has a good variety), etc. If they are not met in sufficient quantity for the population, their happiness would go down. When it gets low enough, they would revolt. Players would have to supply these good, which would give economic-oriented players a lot to do. It would also make blockades and cutting supply lines a meaningful tactic for PvP players.
KrakkenSmacken Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 Yea, the game is in serious need of perpetual comeback mechanics of increasing strength the more behind/ahead a nation is. Maintaining a large empire should be expensive in time, resources and co-ordination.
