Within the last hour or so the server for US PVP 2 was down without any warning, more than likely unexpected crash or something of the like, however I was in a battle with a third rate and have now returned and I have now lost one durability. A bug report has been submitted and I am wondering if there is any chance of getting the one durability back as this was not player side error and is kind of unfair that the battle continues even though the player base is unable to actually play.

I just lost yet another ship, a 3rd rate, to a server outage. The battle was won, yet we just lose our ships anyways. I don't even care about the 3rd rate, I do however care about the master craft marines and the fine hammocks I lost. I would like those back please.

I was in the same battle, same ship, and same fate.

The outfittings are the only thing I really care about, don't care if the boat itself is granted back.

I bought a suprise in yellow . this had durability of . 5 today I was thrown out of a battle and had the odd dannach durability of 4. At this time was server-problems. That ship cost me 290,000 Gold . I play on the PVE server United States and my ingame name is TankGunner . Please reset the durability from 4 to 5 from my yellow surprise. Thanks

I don't believe they do dura resets due to server issues.

Not normally they don't, im surprised they didnt do a small roll back for this though.

They do not replace duras lost to server issues to my knowledge. It may change after the game is complete and officially launched but might not even then.

A roll back to what?  10 minutes earlier?  15?  Other people were in other battles at that time.  How do you roll back to anywhere other than last maintenance downtime without damaging somebody?

There is code that was written to work when the server itself crashes - that code is suppose to prevent durability loss.  The issue here is likely that the servers were running fine - it was the host provider that had issues, so the servers had no idea that people had been disconnected.  I think you could certainly write code to detect that and to fail everything gracefully, but it hasn't been written yet.  :)

Rollbacks aren't currently possible.  In a crash that does not involve the server itself (in the case yesterday, there was an issue with the provider - the servers remained up and running, however many people lost connection), it is not possible to roll back.  Any rollback will cause someone to lose something (maybe 10 minutes earlier a different battle was in progress - you'd then inconvenience those players).

In the future, perhaps code will be written to handle this situation, however, for now, it is early access, you can expect bugs, instability, and crashes.  It's part of testing.

Yeah it sucks but it's early access and clearly stated there are bugs and things may be lost. You won't loose xp but everything else can be gone on a fart.

pretty weak. I love this game, and I respect the staff. However, I can't leave port without fear of losing ships/outfitting to a server/provider crash, which seem to be more and more frequent. How difficult is it really to reimburse someone who takes the time to ask, most don't even bother. Disappointing.

On a side note, having AI take control of a players ship when they disconnect might be a relatively simple solution.

As it has already been said, the problem is not in reimbursements itself - we will gladly recover the items if it was our fault.

The problem is potential for abuse and a lot of manual work to do so - which slows the development during early access. We are in the process to figure out the official position and efficient process to do so. Please hold on.
