Automatic broadsides

Hi. I am a newish user.

 

I have found that my port (left) broadside often fires automatically when I wear-ship (turn down wind to present the other, - in this case - the port broadside, which means I have to wait for a reload time having wasted those shot. This happens fairly consistently. Have I got something 'set' that needs to be 'un-set' or is there another explanation? I would appreciate guidance.

Make sure you aren't bumping the [ or ] key. Holding LMB and space also fires a broadside.
