Flaank Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 (edited) I have posted in Steam boards but will post again here. This is my secondary/travel computer. Does server side settings cause issues? i5 - 2410M (low but others are in game with the same or less) GT 520M direct x 11.1 shader cache 5.0 according to the Nvidia site. Nvidia GPU selected for both files in Control Panel. http://www.geforce.com/hardware/notebook-gpus/geforce-gt-520m/features 8 GB Ram W10 - tried in compatibility mode for W7 on both client.exe and client_.exe Cache verified on Steam Launched in normal and x86 modes Anti virus file exception for NA folder ping of 317ms from hotel wifi but could ports could be blocked. Mobile internet isn't an option in this location. Any one else come across this on their laptop or secondary pc? EDIT: Fixed. It appeared to be a firewall issue with the hotel. Loaded the game fine at home. Edited February 24, 2016 by Flaank
Henry d'Esterre Darby Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Is it possible the laptop isn't switching over to the NVidia card? One of mine used to do that - it would try to use the onboard Intel video card for Naval Action and that card wasn't compatible so it didn't work.
Flaank Posted February 23, 2016 Author Posted February 23, 2016 (edited) It might be the problem but I have specifically gone in and selected the "preferred gpu for this game" option in the control panel. I realise that the integrated GPU is way below the limits but I was hoping for a fix. EDIT: Trying the global settings to see if that makes a difference. Edited February 23, 2016 by Flaank
Henry d'Esterre Darby Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 I had great hopes. Someone more knowledgeable should be along to help soon.
Ink Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 According to the same thread on Steam forums, Captain managed to load the game. The issue could be in wi-fi connection
