Destraex Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 I know that this probably will have very little application in game. However for variations sake know that rocket flares were used to signal along with a lot of other methods. I was thinking these should be expensive but look pretty in game. Imagine a clan member firing one in a dusk or dawn battle or even during the day to signal the attack. Information on early rocket vessels: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocket_vessel Also rocket ships for shore bombardment were actually used in a few major engagements. Copenhagen being one famous battle. They burned the enemy fleet apparently. If we ever get port battles with land bombardment objectives perhaps these could be a very colourful option 1
Joe Spivey Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 In NavyField you could bu firework ammunition to celebrate a victory with. It was a nice touch.
Destraex Posted February 22, 2016 Author Posted February 22, 2016 my phone hates this extention https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/76/Firing_Congreve_Rockets_PAH7444.jpg
Destraex Posted February 22, 2016 Author Posted February 22, 2016 Apparently the rockets red glare is what is meant by the line star spangled banner in the american national anthem
Destraex Posted February 22, 2016 Author Posted February 22, 2016 I am having trouble finding information for the period naval action is set in about naval signal rockets. They certainly existed and I think even had parachutes. Does anybody have any sources?
