McFatts Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 I was doing a mission and had just won a boarding action against a pickle (in a 2 ship fight) and had captured it. Then the server went down. Log back in, and guess what. I am now piloting the pickle while my Surprise sits there with a white flag. I had to flee the battle and lose the mission. Is that the intended mechanic, or a glitch?
Woodes Rogers Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 If you had have pressed x you wouldve boarded the pickle that you capped. Maybe you pressed x before it logged off?
McFatts Posted February 21, 2016 Author Posted February 21, 2016 If you had have pressed x you wouldve boarded the pickle that you capped. Maybe you pressed x before it logged off? I did, so that is what is supposed to happen.
Woodes Rogers Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Yeah that is exactly what is meant to happen, when you cap a ship, just leave it with the white flag, no need to go up to it and press "x". You'll get it when the battle is over and you'll just need to send it to port
Admiral 8Q Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 I did, so that is what is supposed to happen. Yeah. You made a mistake. Don't fret, I've made a few boo-boo's myself. You only press "X" to swap ships if you want to use the other ship for the rest of the battle. If the battle is over, after you exit the battle, in the aftermath screen you can chose what to do with your captured ship. 1
Long Beard Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 (edited) Ouch. I never press X, I just leave the battle then decide which ship to send back to port. As Q8 says, just one of these things you'll hopefully never do again. Today, whilst thinking I was in a basic cutter I maxed out repair kits and hit OK before I realised I was in my Cerb, with repair kits costing 1788 each. Won't make that mistake again lol. BTW, you probably could have reboarded your surprise if you sailed next to it and hit X again. Then again, the log out thing might have disabled that ability. Edited February 21, 2016 by Long Beard 2

McFatts Posted February 21, 2016 Author Posted February 21, 2016 Live and learn. Thanks for the heads up gentlemen. 1
Admiral 8Q Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Shame it was a green 1 dura ship I captured Doh! Yeah, that makes it worse.
walleye Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Like Long Beard said, You could have just cruised up to the surprise and re-boarded her. Also I think even after the the battle you should be able right click on ships in the after battle screen and choose which on you want to sail in. Unless the sever going down caused a problem with this, so not quite sure about that. 1
