Stalling out at Rank 4

Ahoy Mates!

 

First off, I've been playing "Pirates of the Burning Sea" since the it's beginning and learned a lot about ship battles and the techniques to be successful so I am no Novice to the Genre. That being said, I have hit a brick wall in gaining XP due to the fact that the missions suddenly have become incredibly difficult when leveling up to Rank 4.  I can only assume that this is because Game Labs is intending for the player to use friends to help beat these missions. I however haven't played like that and want to do the missions on my own. I don't see myself changing my gameplay which means I can't play this game. This disapoints me because i love the game, but not for the reasons of PVP. I don't understand why this game can be many things to different types of gamers. I know it's early access but it seems that this is intentional aspect to be a PVP/Group Play all the time. What do you think? Is this Intentional? Are they purposely ignoring the other types of gamers outside of group play and PVP?

 

PS I currently am in a Mercury and am Level/Rank 4.

Have you tried the PVE server?

I had the same problem. Then i tried to take o out ships one rank higher and that worked. I.e. when i had the rank to fully sail cerb i sailed an undercrewed surprise or rennomee instead. And i did much better and overcame the problems.

Grinding XP on the PvE server? I didn't know it was 1st of April already!

You could tell more about your failures, we could give u tips how to overcome them.

Really? You can always do Rang 3 missions, max. a Snow. If this a problem for you i can only say "learn sailing"! ????

Up to level 5 the missions are more or less easy, in my humble opinion. Cause i never lost a single dura.

Really, you should probably be more concerned about getting ganged up on in PvP then single missions. Especially if you're sailing around alone. Trust me, 4 or 5 players attacking you is far more difficult than fighting 1 or 2 A.I. ships in a mission. Even one on one can be a challenge when it's player vs player.

I lost 1 dura on one of my fleet cutters. Heheh!

you mean finding out who runs faster away from each other when fighting on equal terms is called pvp?

last time i checked its called a regatta.

Carronades and missions one level lower than you are. It's the key, but it's rather tedious.

a personal recomendation from me kinda sweet taste and doesnt got that strong alkohol taste of the cheap stuff so it got its own taste to it wich i aprove.

After attacking a few Spanish traders in their territory with a cutter, I thought I was doing awesome... until I found a bounty on me. The traders started attacking me then the reinforcements would show up. 

So I did a lot of running to get out of Spanish waters!
