Timbo Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 i dont think timbo will be to keen to lead anything any time soon after loosing 4 dura on a trinc in less than 24 hours 3 Dura*, plus I build an exceptional every day, so you can toss that notion out.
Pentence Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 The shipwright saw the small crowd around the paperboy *rips the parchment from the paperboys hands* "Well then business will be booming once more i suspect" He tilts his hat to read it in full. A smile crosses his lips briefly as he tosses a piece at the boy. As he made his way back to his warehouses marked by his name sake 'Mac Gabhann' he began to draw up plans in his mind for new ships to be built. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ This is the stuff i thrive on, well done mate keep em coming!
Jemima Darrell Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 I know this may be a silly question, but is 1803 the official year in which Naval Action is set?
Henry d'Esterre Darby Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 There is no official year that I'm aware of. Most of us choose a year somewhere between 1775 and 1810 or so. Some ships date from nearly 1820.
Edmond Rooke Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 And since the golden age of piracy goes from the 1650s to the 1730s, NA can really cover many years.
Tennessee88 Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 I know this may be a silly question, but is 1803 the official year in which Naval Action is set? It is not, however with the existence of the United States and Revolutionary France, it is easier to imagine the time frame in the late 1700s and very early 1800s.
Jemima Darrell Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 (edited) Does it not become confusing if there is no agreed date? Edited March 4, 2016 by Jemima Darrell
Tennessee88 Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Does it not become confusing if there is no agreed date? Not really. Just having fun with this stuff anyways.
Jemima Darrell Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 (edited) Thank you again for your reply. I've been doing some research on this, and I've learned that the year 1808 gives an exact correlation to today's calendar. 1808 was a leap year, and sits well with most aspects of the game. If NA was ever to adopt an 'official date', perhaps it could be that. Edited March 8, 2016 by Jemima Darrell 1
