So, I have just finished playing tonight where I have been following the conversation on the British Nation chat channel (PvP1).

Two of the clans in particular (who shall remain nameless) were having an increasingly nasty and personal slanging match with each other.

Despite many others asking them to stop arguing and just enjoy the game they continued and got worse and worse.

I remember the days before EA and how friendly and fun the chat was then. This has changed so much and people arguing like this and creating such a toxic community is spoiling everybody's experience of the game and will put people off playing.

The playing community can make or break a game. Personally I love NA and want it to be a huge success. So can we please try to create a friendly, helpful community once more and remember that compared to some of the terrible things happening in our world, a game like this isn't worth becoming upset over?

With a bigger player base comes the differences of the individuals which in turn bring conflicts....with that you then have what you see now...

haha. must be EU.PVP.1 he is referring to. I don't have a problem with the bickering to be honest. rivalries are bound to develop. it's normal and healthy in a mmo such as this.

come join the french we've got a classy lot (pvp2), also when will this overgeneralized word "toxicity" die. Note if you dislike the uncouthful utterly avoid pirates those guys spout just the nastiest things out in chat, had one mention the recent shootings as an insult on retrospect i really should've reported him was very distasteful.

Haha, this is the exact reason I won't play British, Britain has 2 main groups of players, hardcore armchair admirals (both good and bad ones) and the younger gamers who play British in total war and other games.

I guess this thread makes me happy I went with US on EU PvP 1...

 

I went Denmark first, but that had 90% cyrillics in the chat.

 

So my three options for English speaking nations were British, US or Pirates... I went with US because their ports are green... and Orcs like green.

 

Seems my Orcish bias makes for good decisions

Dutch PVP1 Chat is very nice. We discourage any ranting and banter.

Flamigant has it right regarding the Dutch pvp1. It is nice to see the population intervene when someone is going off rail with their common sense and vocabulary selection.

 

Obviously the high testosterone teenage sexual innuendos happen now and then but are not offensive. Also have not note any racist comments in there.

 

The Ducth Nation in NA is probably the most cosmopolitan and truly international.

 

If you ever consider defecting, please consider the career opportunities offered by the United Provinces both in military and trade companies.

French chat on PVP1 is also fine. I have yet to encounter the toxic person there. Maybe. I don't speak French so that may be helping a lot actually :-D.

I switched from Dutch to Sweden and both of them, so far, has had a very nice and helpfull nation chat. Both on PVP EU1.

So far the players from the French Nation I had the pleasure of chatting, those that use english that is, with were extremely educated and gallant during the stress of battle. A very good impression and an example to the community.

Brit chat on the PvE server is a pleasant place to be, it's all advice for newbies and discussions on mechanics. Rarely anything even remotely heated but that's to be expected as its a cooperative environment so folks tend to be less confrontational.
