YouGotToasted Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Short summary: Battle starts around 4pm EST(9pm GMT?) 11(Spain)vs1(United States) with 1 Spanish Surprise tackling 1 American 3rd Rate outside the port, battle commences and a very short time later both the surprise and American 3rd enter battle. Spanish players trickle in, American Belle Poule and another 3rd join in the defence. We have taken the Parole of those Spanish officers who survived the fight, they await in the city with hopes of a diplomatic resolution so that they may return to their homeland. The well trained crew will be kept in a camp until peace occurs, of course we find some Americans talking with these crewmen to tell of the wonders of America, of democracy, and of freedom... time will tell if this has any effects. (Towers hit hard when you are in a Cerberus/surprise) We thought that port battles were won by destroying the towers. We learned that the higer BR after Battle wins We had a great time anyway. Nice fight from the 4 US naby players who came. (At least we tried to retake a port in our time frame and had fun traying it) On the other hand, we had our revange. We sunk a Belle and a Cerberus in a fair fight soon afterwards without looses from our side. It was a really nice battle. Thanks to Admiral Rachira who was sunk fighting valiantly and the other attendants. We also captured a 3rd rate from a US player (Once more thanks for your contribution to the Spanish war efford) This was a gank, the man fought well, but didnt have a chance. If you dont want to get ganked, please dont sail alone in slow ships in spanish waters. That makes 47 US navy Kills against 4 Bastardos del Diablo kills un open water pvp. Good winds. 1

First, that has absolutely zero credibility when this seems to have been your first port battle. I'm not sure if you're trying to posit that your clan is more skilled (many U.S. players and a couple of U.S. clans have been playing this game for over a year, not likely), or just that you only engage when the outcome is certainly in your favor (not admirable in the slightest). For every piece of Spanish propaganda there is a daily new counterpoint, such as yesterday 6 Spanish (2 in Constitutions) running without a fight from 6 U.S. Players (with only 2 in Frigates). There's no way to win to win the "he said, she said" of who is "better" at PvP. All sides will gank and be ganked. And yet only the Spanish of all factions seem to aggressively engage in this particular type of forum braggadocio. As a diplomat, if you wish to represent Spain or your clan, you'll be most effective if you do so without the false illusions of grandeur. I would advise a representative of any other faction to do the same. 2

I only want to play pew pew pew with my pretty wooden ships!!! Hey muricans. As this battle seems demostrate that fun is possible. What if you have a arranged battle with all this spanish captains and both can counter the real casualties and be friends?

Regarding the 47 vs 4 thing and its zero credibility... its hard to believe for me too specially when I have to admit to mysef that I am an average PvPer. Some of the guys in my corp have been playing together for many years in the POTBS mmo and they were quite good there. Ofcourse, this is a different mmo but... And yes, we only engage when we think we have a good chance of wining. Regarding "Propaganda" I d say you started it. We only started taking notes of our kills when we heard US players saying things like "Spaniards are cowards, they allways run...they are uselss at pvp... and many other alike. Apart of being the truth, it is usefull for our spanish comunity, since as you know, we are suffering heavy loses. Many spanish players are leaving the game, going to other servers or defecting to the pirate "nation". I know the outcome of some of your battles against spanish is quite shamefull for our faction, but not all of us are easy preys By posting "47 vs 4" (the truth) we show that US navy is far from Invencible. Anyway, we have found many US players playing very well and i d say the main reason why we have such a good kill ratio is because many US players are over confident. Obliterati Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Just going to lay this little tidbit here for you... You can take the towers without losing a single ship. Just have your people angle their ships to cause bounces. roughly 20 degrees. Then don't repair until the tower is down. if you repair while the tower is still shooting you. it'll take the armor off again and you'll sink. Even if those larger ships had got into brawl range you should of been able to sink them or cause them to chase by sailing past. You should then stay bunched and use their lack of guns against them. Remember it takes a long time to reload a 3rd rate.
