VonVolks Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 I was just thinking about immersion and "anti grind" yesterday and I had an idea. What if you could develop a relationship with your crew and build up a band of brothers mentality. The way it worked was you would begin add normal and after a few victorious battles your crew would stay to bond with you. After that point every victory would add 1 point to Base moral to say a 200% maximum. This bonus would help in boarding and also give other bonuses added at certain percentages (I.E 130% faster sail handling, 160% faster reloads, 190% higher top speed & turn) BUT if you betray your crew for promotion by moving to a bigger / different ship, you go back to zero again as you have to win over a new crew. This would be a reason to stick with ships and not just constantly jump up to the next one. Thoughts? 1
BramtheDutch Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Sounds like a good plan but I think 160% faster reload and 190% speed are a bit overkil, I can imagine something like this but no bonuses over 110%, because the game needs to stay skill based.
VonVolks Posted February 16, 2016 Author Posted February 16, 2016 No that's not the bonus but the level example of WHEN the bonus would start. Eg, when your crew bond had reached 130% of Base morale then the sail handling bonus would kick in (whatever the bonus was)
Puchu Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Morale and crew exp systems have been suggested time and time again. The devs so far have only answered to it regarding officers. i would love a morale/crew exp system to make crew valuable and surrendering more common. But i doubt it's in the making. but you never know.
VonVolks Posted February 17, 2016 Author Posted February 17, 2016 yeah I would have morale go down as well as up. So surrendering / being defeated would reduce things.
