Riekopo Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 I'm interested to read what features from the classic Sid Meier's Gettysburg everyone would like to see in Ultimate General: Gettysburg. Here's a review of Sid Meier's Gettysburg from Giant Bomb. http://www.giantbomb.com/sid-meiers-gettysburg/3030-12709/ 1
R.E.B.Blunt Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 1) Detach Regiments from Brigades. 2) Retreat. 3) Form Line, Double line, Skirmish and Column. 4) Rotate the map so you can see the hills more clear. 5) Capture Flags when surrender. 6) A detailed after battle report. 7) watch a replay of the entire battle after the battle is over. 9) More Generals and Generals get wounded. But then the game would just be a copy of the most magnificent game SMG and not its own... So kinda a catch 22...
Hurin Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 4) Rotate the map so you can see the hills more clear. The map is hand-drawn and not 3D. So this isn't going to happen. At least, that's my understanding from prior dev comments.
Townsendvol Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Would love to see them have the ability to dig in while they are idle.
sharky0922 Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Capture enemy cannon and shoot the captured cannon THIS!
Tormidal Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 The map is hand-drawn and not 3D. So this isn't going to happen. At least, that's my understanding from prior dev comments. This is indeed true, the map is not 3D so rotating at all will simply not happen. 1) Detach Regiments from Brigades. 1) Most of the consensus was to lean away from more micro-management, but I can see why this would be useful. 2) This would be extremely nice. 3) I personally dont see what good line and double line are going to do, in terms of gameplay. As it stands, the whole brigade can fire in their standard formation. It would be a nice aesthetic though. 4) //no// 5) The grand strategy game, March of the Eagles had something like this, when you defeated an enemy army, you could see if any of your regiments captured any flags, and you could see when they did, and who they took it from. It was fun to see that a Jaeger regiment I had took a French flag 50 years ago from where I was in the game. This would be a fun addition. 6) Would be fantastic. 7) Also fantastic 8) I don't know how to feel on that one, honestly. You skipped 8.
dagdriver Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 -MULTIPLAYER! -Fortifications 9) would probably be a good idea - I am starting to abuse my general ass as scouts, since they are fast and cant be killed edit: Letting the units flags give a rough estimation of the units current moral. (ie high morale: high flying; low morale, about to break; hanging down barely flapping in the wind etc.)
