BakedBunney Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 So I have a high crafting rank on the PVE server atm, but just started again on PVP and have very little crafting XP. (just continued with my same character) Will the crafting XP be merged together? Or will the higher account will take over? Hope its the higher one... :-)
Kanay Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 For the craft XP level it's a great news, thanks a lot for this, was worried to loose all the money and time invested in this aspect of the game. Little question : let's say someone was level 20 on one of the servers and started a new career on another server using still the same character, this means that he will get his level 20 available on the new server he plays on ? I mean for a same character present on different servers you will pick the highest craft level available across all the servers to sync the craft XP level i suppose ? Thanks for other fixes too, and thanks for the mission rewards, this might stop the massive inflation before it is too late.
Jack Marslow Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 We need clarification on carriages production changes. You guys normally give GREAT patch notes. This one is lacking details. 2
Kanay Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 (edited) We need clarification on carriages production changes. You guys normally give GREAT patch notes. This one is lacking details. I imagine we will make 3 small carriages and only 2 mediums with the same amount of materials needed, it was a very consuming part of the ships production first but then it was raised for the iron crisis patch, probably a bit too high and it became really too easy to produce carriages now. Just speculations but we will see. PS : not telling more details will avoid people trying to produce in mass carriages before the patch goes live to spare some resources while it's still possible, if i guessed it wright. Quineloe Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 (edited) Carriages are due to the hemp and especially labor requirement still one of the biggest contributors of ship production. They're not "really too easy" to make. Edited February 11, 2016 by Quineloe 2
yosnel79 Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 (edited) loll you guys worry about money and stupid pointless missions rewards when the EXP alone is a gruesome Grind... if wanna GRIND in an MMO i'll either join DC Universe or Star Trek Online.. Increase the frecking EXP i didn't pay $40 to frecking grind Countless Hours on END for rediculous Amounts of EXP.. on an Early Access Game.... i've had better games with Early Access and Way cheaper.. Specially when missions only give out 400 EXP :/... when you gotta reach a GOAL 10-20-30-40-50ks of EXP..... its Frustrating and Annoying. Edited February 14, 2016 by yosnel79 3
Remo Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Finally I get to stop whining about nation transfer. My fingers were blistering.
admin Posted February 12, 2016 Author Posted February 12, 2016 Gustavia... 1450 a piece. It cannot be 1450 European traders are bringing unlimited quantities at a much lower price (i think)
Cpt Farragut Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 I am thinking it may be better to just test one aspect at a time rather than obliterate the economy a couple times a week. Carriages were fine. Resources were reasonably scarce though in some aspects. Gold was and will remain ridiculous because it is too easy to manipulate the market, if you have the gold to do it and there's no shortage of people who just want to control it.
gozer Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 Yeah i mean now they have to do an a hole of 5 missions or so to buy a ship... Seriously this is a good roll back and shows that devs at least monitor the situation somewhat. As soon as people saw the insane increase in mission rewards everyone just uped the prices for mats and crafted stuff astronomically, heck some people even refused to trade stuff for gold saying its worthless and asking for BP's and other rare to get valuable stuff. The 5k flat rate reward would be good idea ... week ago, before the 9.63 patch. Now? Well, it is technically still a good idea, but the last patch really threw new players under the bus. The 9.63 patch dumped huge ammount of gold into economy, ship prices jumped up, oak and fir didn't really get more available (and certainly didn't get cheaper) and hemp price is through the roof. And now new players will be stuck with 5k reward per mission. Sure, it'll help them get their first few basic NPC-crafted ships a bit faster, but they will be royally screwed when it comes to buying crafted ships (of any decent quality) or trying to buy any ammount of bottleneck resources (oak/fir/hemp) to try to do some crafting to raise crafting level. So as for the economy, in the long run (very, very, very long run) the change will probably help the economy. As for new players ... well, devs might as well play the trololo song at the end of mission for new players. "Well done on the mission, new player. Here is your 5k gold. Oh and by the way, we spent whole last week stuffing millions into everyones pockets, just before you started playing. So spend your 5k wisely, it can buy you whole 10 units of hemp ... if you are lucky. Trololo-lo-lo lo-lo-lo, trololo-lo-looooo" 1
Don Alfonso Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 (edited) Setting gold to a flat 5000 makes it feel like doing higher level missions is far too risky. Other than XP, why is someone going to do the more difficult battle? Yes, from the battle itself you get incrementing rewards... But I don't feel like they are enough to cover the cost of ships or progression. Edit: I'm not sure which methods you find there is to considerably make money other than trade, crafting and PvP. None of which are appropriate alternatives thanks to the broken market (contract system favours people with alot of money to start with) or the lack of scaling trading ships and escorts. Blackbeard787 Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 We are deploying the patch tomorrow 12 Feb. mission rewards fixed - missions now give fixed 5000 gold: favoring young players and giving no advantage for higher levels who have other options to make money Carriages production levels decreased there wasn't anything really wrong with mission rewards some of us "higher lvl's " still are struggling to make money as well as the young players ( esp those of us who play on pve ) and with hte trading system still busted or flooded missions were are only source of in come and challenging as is for those of us going @ it solo feel this is a big mistake 1

I am currently trying to grind up to 5th rate before going hardcore into PvP on a pvp server and have NO trouble making money even without missions or much trading. For me its about capping traders with contraband...get boarding down well and you can make ALOT of money and get ships as well. Example is Fir and hemp and Gold ore everyone cries about. I get a few hundred units of each per day just by capping ships. plus gold for fighting and selling ships.
The Ghost Ship Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 Love the game, absolutely obsessed with it! Just wondering if there'll be any more information about the changes to Compass Wood
Malice_s Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 Sound good lets see how it pans out. nice job.

tipsypo Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 During the week the Spaniards were raiding Jamaica on my server, and as I was pursuing one I saw many players just pass them not engaging and just going into missions instead, one was in an perfect position to cut the Spaniards run also stated "sorry I've an mission to do". So I'm not against this change to mission payments at £5000 across the board. As the more players that go trading or commerce raiding or just engaging enemy players rather than staying close to Jamaica doing missions because the former now earns them more gold than the latter sounds good to me. 1
tipsypo Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 Blackbeard and you should have read his maybe too as the suggestion was to do commerce raiding against NPC traders. Something which I imagine is indeed possible on the PVE servers.
Kuisalsega Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 And still these patches in my opinion only favour the pvp server but not the pve server at all. And yes hunting traders is possible but really time consuming
Bulwyf Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 Just want to absolutely verify that I can now delete my character (French) on PVP2 and replace him with say a British character while not losing my French Character on PVP1. There were a lot of warnings not to delete so I am a little cautious.
Jamrock Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 The patch hasn't happened yet so I would wait until tomorrow Landsmen.
Bleakbeard Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 What are the "other options for making money" that are exclusive to higher levels? Are all of these options group-oriented and so I'm not seeing them as a soloist? 1

Yedidyaus Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 Mission rewards fixed - missions now give fixed 5000 gold: favoring young players and giving no advantage for higher levels who have other options to make money 4th rates and higher vessels repair prices increased 50% To the first point: Does that mean, that it is a base of 5K of Gold for each mission plus the regular bonus we always got, because if that is the case, then it is fine. But if it is even with the bonus 5K of Gold only, then this will backfire, since even PvP battles do NOT bring large amount of Gold. And not everyone has and wants to invest the time in trading. To the second point: How are higher ranked players supposed to repair their ships if they get ONLY 5K from a mission? A badly damaged Constitution e.g. costs repair more than 5K, 3rd Rate even more... how are higher ranked players to maintain those ships, when a) PvP does not bring much and if every Mission brings now a max of 5K? Please clarify that. Regards, Yedidyaus
