Chromey Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I was in a battle in a brig and my health bar was down to about 25% and my ship took on 0 water. I did have no holes but should not ships take on water if thier hull integrity is so low? Cracks even small ones are bound to leak over time. Ships in such a bad shape should take one a little water over time thus forcing players to switch to survival and thus lower their dps. Maybe perhaps start taking on a little bit of water once your hull is under 50% And another thing even with no hull armor left on a side of a ship i noticed that taking hits there did not produce holes in the amount I would expect. If I get hit on a side of a ship with little hull armor there should be alot of holes forming up, currently I see little when this happens. How do you all feel about this?
maturin Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 "Planking integrity" is a stand-in for hitpoints. It's completely abstracted and isn't supposed to be realistic or historical. The bar doesn't represent anything numerical, and is balanced for the best gameplay. You start flooding at <10% hull integrity.
Xoosch Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I think the taking on of water is more or less good as it is, but ships should for sure stop firing if their canons are already underwater.
