I couldn't think of a good title for this thread...

I was surprised when I first entered the game that I could only have one character per server. I shrugged it off however, assuming that on a different server I could be a different nation... At that point, when I discovered the player on every server was the same - minus assets - I was intrigued.

At first I assumed that it may be because of Early Access etc.

Now that I've come to the servers I discover that the reason we are restricted to a single character is to reduce spying. Sure, why not? I'm not acquainted with spying and how badly it may affect the game and so on, but that isn't the issue I've come to argue.

If spying is the issue, why is it that you have to be the same nation on separate servers?

Surely, if someone is Spanish on PVP EU One, they can't yield any useful intelligence by joining the British to spy on them on PVP US Two...

Now, it may very well be that I've completely misunderstood what was said in the 'upcoming updates' etc. As I understand it, you will get your rank/xp linked to your account, and all characters will have that rank/xp on all servers. However, will we still be restricted to the same character on each server (minus assets, again)?

And if so... why?

soon you will be able to be different nations on different servers, dont worry, XP will be shared between those different characters as well.

I suppose that I did misunderstand it then. If I could get confirmation for what Olav said, that would be great.

I am already Spain on PvP2 and PvE and Dutch PvP1 and 3. I don't know how or why it happened but it did.
