I crafted 5 Surprise 3 Frigates all gold still no BP!

hoping that does NOT hold... I am storing up to craft my first Frigate (ExCep) .. hoping at least 1 of the 4 potential BP's will drop

I had blueprints drop into my warehouse. On the context menu, I can choose 'Use', 'Destroy' or 'Send to Chat'. I assume I select 'Use', but when i do, what can I expect to happen? Does it get added to my Crafting screen, or do I need to craft that particular ship right then and there?

YEp .. if you choose the option "USE" it will appear in your ship building screen along with the others there. It is now readied to be used for crafting. You howver can NOT get a duplicate of this BP, once you do this. If you instead opt NOT to pick the  "use" option, just yet .. you can actually obtain, multiples of that BP, (by RNG chancing again/subsequent builds). But once you choose the "use" option, the game now sees you as having LEARNED it, and will not allow more multiples to drop.

 

"Destroy" .. is well.. just lost opportunity to sell/use it -- and will just destroy it.

 

"send to chat" -- this one I am really intrigued about.. I don't know. Tell me if I am wrong -- but all this does is send a copy of the article to the chat room, so others can VIEW it, but they in turn cannot use it, --- just a "look here, see what it takes to make it" .. kind of show and tell.

 

Last option is the one not offered, in that drop menu. That is to sell/trade it as a commodity item, via the chat or other means of communicating you have it for sale.

I'm really struggling with this. It seems like 3-4 updates ago the BPs were dropping a lot more often, which was great. But now it seems to have gone back to discouragingly difficult since the "no duplicate BP" fix. 

 

I have two questions:

- Could it be that the "no duplicate BP" fix made things worse? When you roll the dice for BPs, say you get 3 BPs unlocked but you already have all 3. Do you then re-roll three times for another BP? Or have you "lost your chance"? If the latter, I imagine BPs are going to get increasingly hard to obtain.

- To get BP drops from crafting ships, does the ship quality play into it at all? I've only been crafting Gold ships to unlock BPs as I heard it increases the odds. But it also doubles up the time and effort, so I'd like to know for sure.

Before the "no duplicate" fix came I got a number of BP drops they were all the same though. I had 5 mercury BPs and wasn't getting anything else, so it felt that way. After the "no duplicate" the BP drop appeared slower but it was better in providing other BPs. I have found that if you do an Exceptional ship with Live Oak as the material the BP expectation is greater approxiamtely a 1:4 odds in receiving a BP. Building anything less will result in greater odds in a BP drop cauing you to build more and more to finally get a new BP, 1:10 to 1:20. This is just my experience in the matter and not a rule by any means. Everyone has had difference results.
