Hull Color/Texture

I think it would be awesome that the Hull's of ships would change in color or texture based on the type of wood it has built into it. I want to be able to look at a ship and know more about just from sight.

Even if the ships weren't painted, and even if oak and pine looked dramatically different, the outer planking is still always oak. Only the frame timbers are of different types.
