JCDC Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 I dont know if this is actually against the rules but its unbeleivably childish. I was chasing a lone trader brig with one small escort. i started the battle and it was just me and the two enemy ships. two small cutters joined the battle and one niagara, the two cutters asked me if i wanted the escort ship and i said no they were welcome to it. all good so far. I was chasing and overhauling the trader brig, i saw that the niagara was following me. i finally stopped the brig dead (at this point the niagara had done 0, not fired a shot or anything) so i boarded the trader. lets face it at this point i knew what was about to happen. sure enough he waited until i had nearly capped before ramming between us and interupting the boarding. there were 5 crew left on the enemy ship. fortunately for me he was pretty incompetent and overshot, drifting away far enough that he couldnt slow down in time to steal the kill. so i managed to re-board and capture the ship. That is sadly typical behaviour, what is really unacceptable is that he then started to sink my capture out of pure spite from failing to get it himself. because the two cutters hadnt captured the escort yet i couldnt leave the battle, so i had to physically put myself between my capture and him to block his shots, where he still kept firing at it. he very nearly sank it but luckily because my ship handling was much better i held on for long enough for the battle to be over. I got a video and some screenshots of this idiot. King Hofi from the RGL clan. so what he did might not technically be Green on Green but that's down to interpretation. he tired to sink MY ship as far as I am concerned. it was my battle, he joined it voluntarily, he contributed nothing to its capture and indeed tried to steal the capture by ramming, then in spite at failing he tried to sink the capture once I owned it. this is Green on Green in my book. Even if its not against the rules, the RGL clan should be embarrassed to have this sort of player in their group. its bad enough being a childish spitefull griefer, worse being an incompetent one. You know what the karma really was? the trader had 60 compass wood on it which I sold for 32,000. my best ever capture 1
Galileus Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 It's always sad to see a youngster of a clan behave like that. I can understand restraint towards youngsters not aware of the consequences - I myself avoided coming to tribunal and worked to find solutions amicably in such cases. This is not the case with a clan member. I would expect much tighter behavior from one such. If the promised video evidence or otherwise evidence is provided, I see no reason to go easy on this one.
Henry d'Esterre Darby Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 I need a screenshot of him ramming in between you and your prize please.
JCDC Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 (edited) Sadly i was not recording the entire incident so I have no proof, i was focused on the boarding mini game with a top down view when he suddenly appeared between me and my target and pushed us apart. i was then 100% focused on capturing the target before he could tack and come back to board it so it was only once the prize was secure that i went to start FRAPS and record him trying to sink it. i will post that video shortly. either way, as a member of a clan i expect they will want to deal with it even if it doesnt get official punishment as its embarrassing for them. In either case I regard him trying to sink my captured target as the greater transgression of the two, which I can prove with the video and those shots from it. As an aside, I am not looking for this guy to be banned or anything, its a game after all and he is a customer he just needs to be aware this behavior wont be accepted and has to stop. clan members are not rookies and they know better. EDIT: Video is here. the prize is clearly captured and this is the 2nd volley he puts into it. Edited February 7, 2016 by JCDC
JCDC Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 (edited) The link in the previous doesn't work, don't know why, here is attempt 2. Well, it still doesn't. if you copy and paste it direct into browser it works. I am clearly doing forums wrong. Edited February 7, 2016 by JCDC
Balsafer Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Seems video evidence is needed but when one is focused on the battle at hand often evidence is missed before one decides to record.
Henry d'Esterre Darby Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Actually, I do believe firing on a friendly captured prize is against the rules. I'll double check. Thank you for the report. 1
