  1. Dutch Republic: It does look like the girl in the middle is braking in half....
  2. Yep, they did. An even today you are able to make a lot of money with them. But ... a parody is a parody. ^^
  3. Dutch (Tulip-maniacs): Those captains who declare themself as dutch are usually traders with a hang to hoard gold. Aparenly there is one thing they are chasing after even with more conviction than gold - it's tulips. In all variants and colors they come and are a perfect bait no dutch captain can resist. Just put a Lynx filled with tulips on a reef and soon it is swarmed by those flower maniacs. They'll even try to cross the waters with clogs, though none were successful so far imitating Jesus. Join if: You prefer to maniacly water your tulips instead of defending yourself against pirates.
  4. Yeah, that could be done with those navigation tools on the map. Just plot the course and an estimate with average wind conditions will be shown.
  5. There is a free map... g****e maps ^^ I do hope there wont be a map where you do see everything. I see maps more like something explorer will create while exploring some waters. So they should be able to sell those maps and such map is completing you own map set. But it is only static and not showing any map updates. So if a city got sacked by Spain and you didn't get an update of the map where the city is Dutch, you might have a problem at hand. Furthermore it will be nice if you would be able to use geometric tools on the map to plan your own routes etc. If someone else did suggest something like this before, i apologize for having the same idea.
  6. I didn't read this whole thread but often it is simply a matter of non sufficient communication. We fret often about blocking a broadside, but often we didn't even talked to the ones who are doing it. Everytime i asked: "Will you please slow down or overtake me, so i'm able to get my broadside out." they'll comply. Playing with other people has definately much to do with communication. One cannot expect that everyone knows what to do everytime - we are more like a bunch of amateurs who are trying to stay in formation and not a trained navy for life. As a conclusion: Talk to each other everytime, best done via Voice Chat.
  7. Adding the highest and lowest point of elevation will be a great addition without much effect in the aiming mechanic as it is right now. And i really do like and enjoy the current mechanic, because it is a compromise of easy to use (with the automatic elevation compensation while shooting) and skill / experience (in ranging and keeping track of that spot). If it will become even more simplistic and easier, skill an experience will get neglected too much - welcome Naval Arcade Action. Don't get me wrong, i do not have perfect gunnery nor sailing skills, but i like good long range shots to be difficult. Combat will be much more rewarding then.
