  1. I noticed something puzzling whilst looking at the stats for the superstructures of the various nations' BBs the other day; For some reason the Japanese & US BB superstructures provide a higher Long Range Accuracy bonus than that of Germany & Britains. I find this a bit strange as for example the FCS on Japanese ships definitely weren't as complex as those on German BBs, which in turn were atleast on par with that on the US Iowa class. Infact AFAIK the Japanese FCS was based on British designs. Thus if anything it seems it would make more sense that the highest tier German & US BB superstructures applied the highest long range accuracy bonuses, as I understand they were about equal historically. Just a slight annoyance.
  2. Oddly enough now the Bucentaure's guns are little mismatched (very long upper, short middle, appropiate lower) But I trust all this will be corrected as we come along considering the devs are obviously working on the guns of various ships atm, so I'm not really worried about it.
  3. Odd comment.... You do realize what a forum is for right? To bring up & discuss things that you would like to see changed or added amongst many other things. Also no'one was hurrying them to do this right away, the acknowledgement that something would be done about it eventually was all that was asked for, and the devs have already provided changes. In other words nobody's complaining atm as the devs are delivering as pr. usual.
  4. The Bellona & 3rd rate could use a similar treatment to their lower decks btw
  5. Any chance we will see similar changes to the Ingermanland & St. Pavel Admin? Admittedly I haven't checked the Pavel lately, but the Ingermanland still carries the super long guns.
  6. IMO all BPs should drop from crafting, some more rarely than others, which in itself is enough to make some ships a rarer sight than others. The whole event thing is silly IMHO.
  7. Also make ALL blueprints drop during crafting (some rarer than others ofc), no more special event BPs - I think 90% of the playerbase agrees there.
  8. Giving SoLs one more dura isn't going to hurt anything. You could make them harder to make in conjunction, that way they are still very valuable and yet usable at the same time. Also if you want the most common ships for fully ranked players to be schooners or brigs, well then you're certain to kill this game. Many people play this game to sail at the very least frigates, which incidentally were also the workhorses of the period. Your last point about fine woods I can agree with though.
  9. Well that is far from the experience many new players encounter these days. i.e. to them the progression curve seems infinitely steep. Also let's not compare our own progression experience with how things are now, because things couldn't be more different. We had it easy compared to the poor chaps starting out now. Also disposable ships is exactly what we need if we want to see PvP increase, and this is a method which will see it increase a lot by itself. In other words ships need to be "usable". If ships are both very hard to make and very easy to lose completely, well then PvP will die.
  10. What I meant with reinforcements was exactly that you have to be close to a fleet to get its help - i.e. reduce circle size. In other words I am talkng AI only. As for the rest being carebear trash, well it is exactly that attitude which has seen most of the players leave. Too many new players quite simply don't get a chance to learn the game properly before they are preyed upon by seasoned players. The end results of that is rage quitting players that never come back. In other words losing ships shouldn't be such a pain, which is solved by increasing dura and making them slightly easier to produce (no fine woods needed or at least a much higher drop of fine woods from production) that way people will be much more willing to engage in PvP.
  11. Want more PvP and an increased player count? Easy: 1) Increase all ship dura count by 1 (Yes that means 2 dura 1st rates, but don't worry few will want to sail them anyway) 2) Make ships easier to produce (no fine woods!) 3) Remove AI reinforcements (i.e. you have to either be close to a fleet or within capital protection to get any help) 4) Make PvP more rewarding with special PvP currency rewarded regardless of loss or win (great idea from the devs here!) 5) Remove ahistorical an very boring raking focused gameplay (i.e. adjust raking casualties to historical amount which incidentally also fits the game better due to the vastly higher agility of our ships ingame) 6) Introduce non-hostility generating/reducing missions only for new players (say up to mid rank) which instantly lock so these guys can easily learn the game mechanics and level up to an appropiate level for PvP'ing in peace if they feel the need. With these 6 simple changes you'll guaranteed see a vast increase in player count as well as PvP.
  12. It's a nice idea, but like communism I don't believe it would ever work in practice thanks to human nature.
  13. Well the problem would still be there I believe, people don't want to fight if losing means lots of time needed to get a similar ship, and new players will simply want to quit if they lose their new ship to a seasoned player. More duras on the other hand means people will be willing to take more risks, which in turn will increase the likelyhood of PvP. So all in all I just think a 1 dura system is a really bad idea if you want PvP to increase. Atm I think we should instead look at ways in which we can increase the player count and then encourage those who play to do more PvP, and the devs idea of introducing a PvP reward currency is a great idea IMHO.
  14. No'one would PvP anymore with only 1 dura ships, just saying.... they simply wouldn't want to risk their upgrades, also new players have a high affection for every new ship they progress to, thus if they end up losing it quickly to a more experienced player it would simply make them want to quit. If you want more PvP I say keep the duras as they are, and maybe even increase duras by 1 for each class (and yes that means 2 dura 1st rates, which means u can use upgrades on them in PBs), that way you encourage more PvP by giving players less to fear from engaging in it. For example yesterday I was sailing around all alone around Britains newly acquired region around New Smyrna in a fully tricked out Trinc just looking to be ganked to get some action. I would've never done that if my Trinc had just 1 dura, just way too risky.
