Howdy, Been away from game since work got busy again from covid battles, jumped back last few days and also been noticing the changing ownership of ports Now i'm just wondering what the community and developers take on a situation with mechanics and possible solutions for the future, so the initial question is when a clan theoretically holding multiple ports connecting to major crafting ports and hubs decides they are using prolific forger to change nation whilst removing majority of clans from a friends list and blocking usage of a port and the ability for the nation to defend it properly affecting the RvR gameplay for that nation. The same goes for a tactic of dropping ports thus disallowing the nation owning to defend also or even just opening the ability for all to use making it a PvP hotspot in a main trade and crafting hub. Now is this actually a valid tactic? or is this kind of exploiting the mechanics and deliberately sabotaging the RvR in game? There is quite a few issues with clan ownership and friendslist that affect gameplay but they will need further discussion later

FLEET PRACTICE RETURN!
Ronald Speirs replied to Raxius's question in Feature proposals and Gameplay Help Q&A
Don’t know why they would ever remove it, many games have a lobby duel room where u Don’t lose anything but are still able to practice to get better and learn from the veterans. -
Doubloons in shipbuilding

Ewww that system was horrible also, they could just make life much easier and get more people out there having fun, kinda like POTBS just not as much off branches on items that over complicate it. -
Doubloons in shipbuilding

I think is crafting quantities, labor etc was reduced and the actual original ships costing less then maybe we would see more of the original ships getting used more, i gather the crafters having time to pvp and farm instead of mundane time consuming back and forth hauling will make them enjoy the game more, even mods and books should be cheaper and easier to come by, we want people out there having fun in this game not spending 100’s of hours grinding and getting their hard worked stuff getting trashed by DLC seasoned ships, the greed to push DLC and allowing people 24 hours to re-redeem didnt help the only other aspect in this game from the ship combat, there are multiple games that have their balance right and thrived, unfortunately this game never had the right balance to get the better reviews yet hence the need to get money for development somewhere to push the game work further. Oh and the RnG sucks in this game which makes the crafting suck when u get garbage, surely that could be a port upgrade thing, the sturdy, agile builds could be from ports instead of random, and slots requiring slightly more resources instead. -
Yes Real pros, nations can have real pros, then those pros in nation use prolific forger to change nation and then go attack the nation who lost pros etc, PF ruined alot of gentleman gaming and brought more toxicity to this game, yes it did stop a problem in the old turn pirate change nation situation now its a different kettle of fish, so yes weaker nations who have had PF screw them over we lucky enough to have 200 able captains/ noobs prepared to defend their ports and screen out PB fleets, so is the new mechanic allowing multiple flags to attack the same port to who ever lands it? so is their screening to stop the flag now and will their still be alt tagging to stop the defender from entering the new 30 minute kill flag missions? i dont know the infromation provided doesnt print much of a picture to prevent the things u say i created this system to stop, all it did was allow the nations with better PB fleets a better chance to screen out the actual flag defenders then rape the PB with a teleport mechanics from the information u have provided.

i see more workload on the weaker nations to just try particpate in RvR, now they have to get their smaller group to go attack HDF and then they attack a nation who has a better PB fleet, lose and restart process multiple times, Stronger PB nations do 1 HDF go attack a weaker PB nation then win win win and make it so hard for weaker nations to keep up, systems flawed from the beginning like many others, wont take long for it to be thrown out because its not balanced.

You have already taken it too far with the original build including Dane, Swede and even the US really, should have kept it simple and had just the main GB, France, Spain, Dutch then a pirate pop outta neutral ports with some build restrictions on rate ships as that isnt accurate for them to have SOL, but in all honesty the game population is no where near big enough to support the amount of nations we have, maybe if u had 20k players and a pop balance feature then it might be better but where the game is at is u have big nations and other nations having alliances with those nation making them even bigger so its just no need to have these extra nations, POTBS had far better examples on how a game should be structured, im pretty sure u devs used to play it, so take some more ideas from their research and apply it in better way if need be as that game worked well just this has far better combat but that game wins hands down on overall structured RvR, Crafting and Economy. But unfortunately u have gone too far and i fear removing nations now will hurt the already small player base of the game and those who have put in all the work to get where they are.

Reinstate Indefatigable as a 5th?
Ronald Speirs replied to Ronald Speirs's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
unless u go full carro with indef then the carro cannon combo is hardly any difference between endy and indef, and just straight cannons the endy wins, unless they up the HP and thickness on the indef then it shouldnt be in a 4th rate category -
Reinstate Indefatigable as a 5th?
Ronald Speirs replied to Ronald Speirs's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
82% surely thats enough grounds for a demotion -
Hi all, Coming back to the game after some time i noticed the Indefatigable has been pushed up into the 4th rate category and looking at the overall statistics its hardly any different from an endymion, the only real difference is if its full carronade which maybe some people do but when you combine the carro and cannon builds they are only pound differance of 656lb on and Endymion compared to 690lb on an Indefatigable, structure and build of the ship the indef is practically the same thickness and HP just lacking the speed, so its abit of a question to did it really need to be pushed up a class? People might have a differenent view on it but i thought i would just make a little poll on others views on the ship, as a 4th its kinda feels like its just lacking alittle HP for the class and its no real difference in firepower and if we are going of carronade power then the trincomalee isnt far behind the Indef at all though it does lack HP and thickness, what are others thoughts on the ship in its current class?

i got to 21 in queue then it counted back up

Home Defence Fleet
Ronald Speirs replied to Gregory Rainsborough's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
I think the correct term is Wanted Noob Protector, well around capital zone to protect the vulnerable anyway 100BR should have smaller Fleets chase them off to so the 15 to 20 hour players dont get scared off all together from this game -
Yeah a battle log would be awesome to reflect on the statistics, the mystery is more amusing then anything, i got home from work after a sluggish start to the morning and was like where my baby, the song (Player - baby come back springs to mind) while trying to piece together the mystery
-
OK im putting this is as abit of a laugh and also to solve a mystery, so as per the title i had enough brewskis to completely forget lastnight and just logged on and noticed my Indef is missing, classic dude wheres my car situation, i honestly have no idea on what i did with it, its was a Blue Indef with Cag/ WO with an RnG cartegana Refit, last seen around yucatan maybe, if anyone has seen her let me know what happened lastnight :P

Collection of suggested mechanic fixes - POLL
Ronald Speirs replied to Liq's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
You forgot that a poll about small 100Br locking the bigger ships from reinforcements or even being targetted by AI fleets, or even National Ships getting tagged in home waters and not being able to get help while smaller BR enemy nations can get stacks of help, frankly IR no nation defense would allow invaders to gank without helping its own defenses!!!!!
