  1. What are the “various new ship parts”?
  2. Yeah this is an issue with the base crew pool value generally being too low. So if you spend 800 crew, it will rapidly recover, but then stop when it reaches the base crew value. Which doesn’t make any sense. It is saying that the nation actually has no trouble finding lots of crew RIGHT AFTER exhausting its crew pool, but has difficulty finding crew when it doesn’t?
  3. He is doing an invasion on it, but his fleet can’t get there as they are trapped behind Gallipoli for some reason even though he owns the territory right before it. It definitely is an error.
  4. Yes this is what I described in my post. You often get these first shot nukes at unseen, escorting DD or TB. That’s just because they were crossing the red line.
  5. @Nick Thomadis Could you please describe the mechanics behind research priorities? Like how they work and why you would use them? They just seem ineffective and costly, like I don't get why you would use them. You mentioned before that you should be using them to get ahead, but I don't see how this is possible when they appear to have a net negative effect on total research.
  6. I have to say, the whole "consensual war" game design is really annoying me in these last updates. As Germany I have declared war on Spain 4 times and they just pay off my government every time. I understand they're a weaker nation, but that's life. This is so dumb. Sometimes wars are just about conquest. Maybe it should cost prestige to persuade your government to reject the money offer at least? Like something to spend prestige on?
  7. I think the VP you earn at the moment from sinking ships, particularly capital ships, is too low compared to how much you earn from sinking merchants. I’m playing as Austria-Hungary and while I haven’t lost a single warship in my current war against Russia, and have sunk many of their ships, they keep finding my merchants all over the med and I’m far behind in victory points. They also trigger a blockade every other turn before I destroy them but considering how I have sunk so many ships it is ridiculous to me that I’m behind in the war score when Russia hasn’t won a single battle against my navy.
  8. In this case, there was no option, the destroyers had to stall the enemy from attacking carriers. Not ambushing battleships they could just run from.
  9. Yeah 😔 I wish they would add the ability to manually upgrade ports - something you could even spend prestige on maybe, if not cash. Not just because places like Truk or Pearl Harbor never grow into important bases, but @Nick Thomadis mentioned that you need ships larger than destroyers to counter enemy raids on your shipping, but so many ports in an area aren’t going to fit ships larger than destroyers. Like if his explanation on transport losses is true, and obviously it is true if he is saying it, then the player needs the ability to create real naval bases just like navies did in real life, for much the same reason. If we need cruisers to counter enemy cruiser presence to prevent transport losses, then let us invest our money into places to keep them.
  10. And to be clear, the main reason I dislike the constant war is not because it is difficult, it actually makes the game easier and less fun because you watch the AI’s GDP just go backwards in 20 years and struggle to build BB and it feels very boring and monotonous and like you have very little control over what’s going on in a madhouse of schizophrenic AI. I haven’t played the latest updates to see if the recent tension changes mitigate this or not.
  11. One thing I tend to agree with Nick on is his insistence on actually making things challenging for the player. There are things that are very frustrating in UAD at the moment, but it is generally not because they’re difficult, it’s because they’re frustrating or tedious. On the other hand, the amount of times someone shares the end of their campaign and they’ve only lost a dozen ships in 75 years confirms to me that generally this game is still too easy for the player, but it is easy mostly because the AI ships are inferior and humans are superior in battle. The frustration comes I think with game mechanics intending to limit the player economy that we have no explanation or documentation about that don’t work intuitively either. Like I still have no idea how research priorities work given Nick’s previous comments about you need to use them to get ahead, when I thought this whole time they were a net negative to use them.
  12. Yeah being attacked by an entity that you can't do anything about, that you aren't really even at war with, is really stupid.
  13. Now that the minor nations are more impactful, can they NOT be given an infinite budget? It’s crazy attacking a minor nation now and they have a dozen BB and sixty cruisers in their ports, like most major nations wouldn’t be able to afford that.
