Sort of related question: Is there a way to save a design so you can come back to it and try a variation, or do you have to design the whole ship from scratch each time?

Newbie question: How do I get the 8.0 patch? I have the update checked and ran repair but the screen shows 7.6.

How about a difficulty slider? That way you could just give yourself more, or less displacement for free, and that should be easy to implement.
