Different people want different play-styles -- make it a win-win for everyone. Many want to play in a system where the NPCs don't tackle you, leave that as default. Change the functionality of the otherwise useless Loki Rune on the PvE server to be an 'opt-in' flag. If you carry the Loki Rune in your cargo, you are opted in to being attacked by raiders/NPCs on the Open Sea. Everyone gets to play the way they choose. Problem solved.

Hello, Just a suggestion -- both the compass and map basically spin around your ship as you turn. Could there be added a setting by which your in game map, during combat, could stay aligned to true North, while your ship spun in place in the middle, more like an actual Navigator's map? Hello, Slowly wending my way through the tutorials, but one thing is missing that would be very helpful: a boring sandbox. In it you have your ship, fully functional, and you can sail around and shoot at nothing. I found that I didn't have any real tutorial where I could just practice bracing the yards manually, or tacking and wearing ship on my own without some timer or objectives popping up. Something freeform where one could simply practice how their ship behaves wouldn't go amiss... Thanks for reading.
