I have to add this makes the game almost useless to play, if I have to be online for every minute.

Cleaning and reloading NA did not fix anything. I still got disconnected after about 2 minutes of activity outside of NA.

I uninstalled NA, cleaned up local stuff and reinstalled this afternoon. NO CHANGE. I am still timing out as before. After about 2 minutes of activity outside of the game. Kartaugh is claiming a similar problem.

I have been getting disconnected very quickly (2 minutes) as well (post here in this forum). Was suggested that I uninstall, clean and reinstall NA. Just did that this afternoon. Will pass on the results.

My original post I remember the inactivity (AFK) threshold used to be something like 20 minutes. Lately, it has been more like 2 minutes. And it's not a random thing, it happens everytime I switch from NA to Windows (Alt-Tab). I end up back at the NA startup screen. It doesn't seem to matter what I do in Windows - run an app, open a browser. I am playing NA in full screen mode. Ink's last post The afk kick timer was not changed for a very long time. Most likely you are experiencing temporary connection issues that you mix up with the afk kick Ink - I wish what you say is true but this happens every time I leave the game while it is still running. Has been happening for over a month. In fact by the time I left the game (alt-tab) went to Windows, opened a browser, went to Game-Labs site found my thread, read it and switched back to NA i was disconnected. I can't even read emails anymore.

This is the only game I play - I am a valued customer 🙂

I agree but that doesn't remove the fact that it is consistently happening to me. In fact I am logged in right now and by the time i get back there is a good chance I will be logged off. Can't even check the forums without being disconnected.

Thank you Ink. I will follow your instructions. The problem is just so random that it has been hard to identify the steps to recreate the problem and I often don't realize it until a day or two later. When you say uninstall game are referring to the Windows program uninstall or is it some I need to do from the Steam site?

I have sent in numerous bug reports for this but the problem continues. I am having goods from boat holds disappearing. I have been looking for a specific pattern to reproduce but I cant come up with one. Sometimes after a fight I dock the ship and a few hours later all the consumables (rum, hull reps, rig reps) are gone from the hold. This has happened multiple times including again tonite. Have also had at least one buy contract in Cton disappear while it was filling. If this is a new feature please let us know. Otherwise, you have a serious bug or you are being hacked. I apologize for that accusation but from the randomness of the problem it looks to me (a software dev) like a hack. I am to the point where i have to clear out the hold anytime i dock a ship............

@admin I am very confused about what will be going into PvP and what into PvE. Then commenters here make it worse. Would you try separate thread for each. After all this I still have no idea what is planned for PvE other than some sort of port raid. Would appreciate that and I have heard several others make similar comments in the game.

The conversion process seems to have some bugs. Myself and several others kept inventories of various sizes of Gold Coast Ivory, Historical Artifacts and Versaille Terracotta. I can say for myself most of these items were ripped off during conversion. Where I had over 100 units of some of these, after the push I had less than 10. Other big ticket items converted OK, but we have lost millions on those 3 items. Please check the code that is revaluing the 3 items. It ain't right.

Going on the Windows takes control idea, I uninstalled several items that I did not want anymore. I know at least a couple of those try to do automatic updates and unfortunately could not be configured to turn off the updates. I should have done them one at a time and then run NA in between so I could point a finger at one of them, but I did it as a group. The problem is gone for now. Thanks to all for your input.

Ok Norfolk - so do I still want that at 100 or is it just a trial & error sort of thing? btw - my ping rate is around 155 and fps is a steady 60

Tablet mode is and has been off. I started playing in a window - turned off the NA fullscreen option - and so far it has not done a switch. It is not without problems though. In OW the ship pauses a lot. Just for maybe a half second or so but it does it maybe once or twice a minute often as I start typing in IM or a keyboard command. The ship stops, the water keeps moving. Also the entire game screen doesn't fit - even if the window is maximized - and there doesn't appear to be scroll bars on the window. So all the displays around the edge of the playing area - compass, NA toolbar, top menu - are cut off. So some progress but no joy yet...….
