You should have enough men to do it. In the opening phase, i swung all my forces past the first fort and secured the Union entrenchments from below. Bleed them dry and wait for the moment you can flank the forts. Timing is everything, once you capture the center fort, the right is easy and then you can address the northern previously skipped while putting up a defensive line in the south where the union counter attacks. Force preservation is extremely important, I had a similar force on legendary...losing something along the lines of 30k taking the forts. With my remaining 35k it was relatively easy to hold both the forts and Washinginton while entrenched.

Thanks! It took many attempts. The sea of blue rushing you is crazy. I barely had enough men to shift around the field while simultaneously using delaying actions. Washington was definitely the most challenging battle in my opinion. The sheer numbers and length of it really wear you down to a nub. Antietam and Chickamauga come in second and third respectfully. Antietam was my favorite battle of the game Sorta sad it's over!

I agree I'm looking forward to your take on Washington on Legendary I'm fielding 75k and can make it to the Final Washington City hold... But i just get overwhelmed every time.

Hi Everyone, First time post, I'm working my way through a legendary CSA campaign. Just hit Cold Harbor, All victories fielding 76k. I was just curious how this stands to other legendary play throughs. What battles have you liked most? I'm most proud of Antietam, which imo is the best so far. It was a blast to play and took several attempts.
