Yes, i had the same impression. But i'm not sure whether these numbers are new or have been valid for a longer time. So there are many changes that have not yet been reflected in our impressions. Because some numbers say something different. Additional to this, some things may have changed with the new thickness-penetration ratio, especially the hull shape advantage for the ocean.
-
Actually i remembered that the santi had more firepower but the ocean was more stable, here in the game. ... and it was good and well balanced that way - nobody thought that anything need to be changed there. Now i compared these two and found that the santi has become better than the ocean in almost all areas, except for the 50 less crew. Has it been like this for a long time? And is it the intention to create a new meta ship? Also, it´s not historically accurate either, the santi had less displacement than the ocean despite a higher number of guns. Additional, the santi was also an example of a ship that was difficult to sail, whereas the ocean was known for its good sailing properties. - here in the game the opposite: santi higher turn rate and even less heel (and this is very unlikely with a ship built in height, in terms of weight) (however, i am not asking for historical accuracy, but for reasons of balancing)

30% or so speed buff? Why?
Holm Hansen replied to ChineseBatman's question in Feature proposals and Gameplay Help Q&A
a speedbuff was ok, from my point of view. or take back the last 7% speednerf. but 19% also seems a bit too much to me -
"useless" is a bad word. let´s say it is inferior ... but it doesn't cost combat medals and you sometimes have it as loot
-
L'Ocean have a base thickness of 100. Live Oak/Sabicu (wood bonuses) are additional bonuses, do not count as part of the base thickness, which is the base for the calculation of the refit bonuses

how often would it be used? and it would be far more complex to program and insert into the game. Rather a simple solution which has a chance to be implemented than a complicated solution which probably will not come the code for the post battle screen should already be known, because we already had it in the game ... whereby if your solution will implemented, i would of course also be satisfied. i´m already that, because the new loot-mechanic makes it much easier and was clearly a step in the right direction
-
why so complicated? postbattle-screen that we had before and where the loot was automatically distributed according to kills, back and done if you want to give something to someone else or if you are overloaded afterwards, you can still trade, either on the open sea or in the port
-
until patch 10 we had a post-battle-screen, where the loot was automatically distributed after the battle. according to kills bring that back would solve all problems and annoyances, which exist with the lootmechanics ... anyway, I'm glad you are still working on it, thanks.
-
This, but from another sight .... why we shouldn´t get them? and that is one of the biggest issues here for me ... and seems for other too. ... especially when you consider that it has been solved better before

why not the endbattlescreen, which was gived up with patch 10? in a range combat game, where positioning, formations and such things play a role, and also long range combat is becoming more and more important, thanks to the new penetration values, the manual looting in the middle of a running battle is just a contradiction. ... i'm talking about fleetbattles here, with a 1v1 it's ok for me, because you can practically loot after the battle. but i don't know the new sailing mechanics
-
Thanks, but that will barely helpful in fleet battles.
