  1. Correction, dutch took one port (and mysteryously sank dozens of prussians outside that port the day before to create the PB ) Wonder why those damage logs were not checked, probably because there was a forum mod involved #PrussianBias
  2. you need to hold it while you are taking the screenshot, not before or after
  3. what do you mean? just hold tab and press your screenshot key (mine is f12)?
  4. Yup Basically two communities with different paces and playgrounds are being put together to one sandbox playground, and the smaller community is expected to adapt Easiest solution with the fewest problems created would be a mapwipe
  5. Well then it will be 1 final char per steam account. Stuff from your global server chars get merged into your eu server char. Cant mix up the two steam accounts.
  6. I read that with an "r" instead of "n" first.. lol Excusez moi monsieur :-)
  7. You cant have 2 chars on one server (per steam account). 1 char per server is the limit atm
  8. I think what they mean is, if a clan loses a defense vs a clan based in another timezone, it will be pretty much impossible to re capture it on workdays - but doable on weekends I guess Might give PBs a bit more attraction and importance. Worth testing
  9. No Pve server has its right to exist, e.g. for players that want to discover the map in a vic. Cant do that on pvp server
  10. At some point you just get burned out and cant be ar*ed anymore to log in and sail the open world for an hour to find nothing. For me it doesnt have anything to do with the power given to clans. Id just much rather spend my few hours after work on a game I get some good action from.
  11. Did you scroll down in the ingredients list? There are some materials missing (Below where it says "Rigs")
  12. For the longest time we ALWAYS had limited repairs, started from sea trials all the way to when structure was introduced - To me it's the other way around; multi repair seems arcadish Example: You can stack repair mods / perks / skillbooks so you get a HP repair of 50%. Do that twice (11 min cooldown) and you put together a brand new ship in the heat of a battle - Now tell me that isn't arcadey? Sure, IRL vessels would carry some repair tools - to fix the damage that needed to be fixed asap - But no way they were prepared for, let alone carrying, repairs to get in a shape they felt confident to get back in an engagement
  13. Since now all ships are updated with the sailing profiles, the tournament can continue - I am aware of the fact that this has been taking (way) too long, but it can be quite a challenge to agree on a battle date. Also noone saw the sailing changes coming. New deadline: Sat., 23rd of December I have been asked to change the current BR list due to the sailing profile changes - Have not looked into every ship so far but my first thought was to keep it as it is, also makes it easier to calculate
  15. Key is angling yourself to the very predictable broadsides of the reno. Teak reak is a good combo for that. If you do it right and time your broadsides right after angling yourself, you should not have much of an issue. Id also recommend either mediums with double shots or carros. Though carronades didnt seem to work in frig v frig battles for me lately, the very limited pen. Values pretty much force you to go side to side to get your shots in, and by doing so you're exposing yourself.
  16. Some just double tap the yards and dont move them parallel to the wind as the ship is turning.. this may help downwind but when coming in on a beam reach / close hauled turn, it will actually be worse than no yard managing, now even more with this update
  17. My comment was not directed at you but to new players as you said in your initial post Players SHOULD have to learn and get better over time, this also increases the game fun over time This aint clicker heroes
  18. So it's almost like you need to practise to get better, huh amazing Ok.. *Smartass-Mode Off* Manual sailing is one of the first things you learn though when going into pvp. It really isn't that hard
  19. Okay so I did a few tests on the surprise - The acceleration once the topsails are down is just insane. I am really liking the new possible manouvers you can do, e.g. going 6 kts reverse, then reverse-ruddering and get the odd broadside off (maybe)
21. So in theory if you lose your bowsprit in a trinc in a close hauled / into wind manouver and cannot repair.. it's gg? Looking forward to test
  22. If you want big battles you should try Legends (or participate in PBs (or make your own clan as Ive read you dont like cooperating with "children-clans")). There is a vid on my channel of NA L with 32 players in 6th and 5th rates. The game will be great on release. Playerbase dying has little to do with battletimers IMO. After about 50 hours you are just done levelling, got the biggest ship. Most then leave because they think they are done Battle timers have been experimented with for quite a while. We had pretty much everything, including insta closing ones which also not really were the best approach. Point of battle timers is to simulate that only ships in range can join, as it should be. 3 minutes OW time let you cover quite a distance. I think most players by now agree that there has to be some sort of joining timer limit.
  23. Balanced Battles open for 10+ min only feeds the lazy players jerking off in port while waiting for someone "stupid enough" to actually sail a ship in their waters and then join a battle he should never be able to get to. We need more reasons to actively sail out and hunt yourself, NOT messing up current battle timers
