Remove 1.5BR anti-gank programming

Pretty sure you haven't read the previous posts at all. This change benefits gankers more than anyone. -
Remove 1.5BR anti-gank programming
snackbar replied to Bach's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Pretty sure that was us. We went there to stir you guys up and we were ready and willing to sink. We wanted a fight, didn't care how "fair" it was. We expected to get a huge response that would ultimately sink some of us, however, the mechanic allowed us to roam around picking people off and win every fight without allowing people to rescue each other. You had a huge fleet waiting outside after 1 battle and we got pulled and most of you couldn't join. TLDR: This mechanic is bad and actually helps people who want to gank since it inhibits rescuing and counter-ganking to drive people from an area. -
Remove 1.5BR anti-gank programming

It doesn't solve the battle screen ambush. -
thanks for all the hard work. i know you all are putting in a lot of effort whether or not changes end up being good or bad.

This is my understanding but I have not tested it.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
snackbar replied to LionsRoar's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Good -Land is awesome. -I actually like no more capping ships. -I can choose any level mission!! -Fleet missions! Bad -Leaks. Ramming in particular. -OW AI fleets insanely large. Seriously overboard on the difficulty. (6x santi 12x vic...really???) -Friendly AI in fleet missions (they really get in the way + leaks from ramming = nightmare). -Land scaling seems odd (my ship is too big? this is subject to change). -Land is way uglier on OW (i set it to max settings, probably this is for performance so take it with a grain of salt) -All frigates in stores (no different than capped ships, worse actually because 5 dura) . Ugly -Have to sail to edge of circle to join battle. -Anti-gank. Worst change I've seen so far. People stuck outside of battles. Splitting pb fleets etc. It's really bad. -
Oh I misread. Pretty sure this is accounted for since they said you can still cap and use the ships in battle.

I'm sorry you're upset people disagree with you but I provided reasons so your commentary was really uncalled for and I'm not going to "learn" anything because I voiced an unpopular opinion with reasons. I mean, did you even read what I said??? Anyways, not going to hijack this thread or continue arguing about this since this thread is supposed to be about feedback not attacking people who disagree with you.

Well i hope this doesn't descend into some stupid finger pointing argument but anyways. You literally just said to me "this game is not for you, play something else" when you said "go play potbs is you want unrestricted warfare" whereas I never said this to you. That's pretty hypocritical and in all honesty not what this thread is for. I merely said there is a server type for the type of gameplay you desire and explained why ganking was a core part of the server I play on. If you don't like it that's fine but don't come trying to ruin my gameplay when there's a clear server type for what you want. Don't vilify ganking when it has legitimate uses in an OW pvp game. On another note, I initially thought that removing capped ships was a bad idea but I am finding it to be quite a nice change.

Fail to see how it's a cheap shot. I believe the pve server exists for a reason and my opinion is just as valid as theirs. However, I am a pvp player. If you only want certain types of pvp then perhaps a completely open pvp server isn't the best option for you. Anti-gank measures are a bad idea for any pvp game especially one like this considering ganking adds a lot of content to the game since it can be used as a mean to many ends. I.e. stirring up a fight, blockading a port, establishing a presence in an area, personal vendettas, privateering, etc. This is why removing AI reinforcements was a great change. Now we can actually blockade ports and harass traders. I can actually be a pirate/privateer etc. This is what a sandbox game is all about. The freedom to make my own content. That doesn't mean everyone will like what everyone does. If this isn't removed and/or more "anti-gank" measures are added I will be quitting for sure. I'm sure many people will feel the same way. I don't enjoy the 10v1 gank. It's really boring for both sides. However, that doesn't mean they are without purpose. Furthermore, any competent player can defensively tag and avoid almost all ganks. If you want to fix something how about fixing invis/invurnerable timers so you can't hide in ports and bait. Or how about fixing baiting while people hide in battles.

Leaks - Completely out of hand. needs a hotfix asap. this makes suicide ships a very viable tactic (use a small ship to suicide sink a big ship via ram). BR Limit - You can't fix ganking in a pvp game. If you don't want to get ganked, play on a pve server. This is just a weird mechanic that creates tons of new broken pvp mechanics. Fleet missions - remove friendly AI they are very annoying. they get in the way and will not allow you to form lines since they will just park and shoot the enemy AI. not to mention they sometimes run off with enemy ships.

this will absolutely hurt pvp. especially for small nations. for instance, sweden (PVP1) has no silver/red wood port. this means we can not sustainably craft 1-3 SoL. We also (probably) don't have enough big ships to wage a war to gain these ports. This means that we can only weaken. In other words, we are fucked and the capture change only makes matters worse. These changes will also deter people from pvp'ing in anything that can not be bought from NPC's or easily crafted because of how much time it takes to craft SoL's. I think it is a bad change. I also think the "ganking" changes are very bad as well.

I think national ships would end up creating more population imbalance as well as unbalanced gameplay. Don't think it's a good idea for a game. New ships look awesome.
