Have you ever heard of the prime meridian?
UTC is a way more appropriate standard than CET. Basically, if your audience is in different timezones, using Coordinated Universal Time is the obvious choice. Not even all Europeans are CET, and another advantage of UTC is that it isn't affected by daylight saving time.
