  1. (Timeline (timelines are not final) 1. Series of patches will be applied to testbed by the 10th of April (last patch to testbed was applied on 27th Feb) 2. Asset wipe by 19th of April 3. Preparation of the server merges and reorganization by 19th of April 4. Opening of servers 19th-20th April ) (Estimated time of deployment of the patch is between 15th May and 24th May.) Final or not those are dates people see and whether they should or should not, they put weight to them. Promised or not these dates are what the customer see's and expects to some degree. Saying that your customers should "expect the worst," is not the image you want to be projecting. The fact is, that you do NOT "communicate a lot." I have no doubt you think you do, but averaging news releases to once a month, is not effective communication. Nor is it, in my opinion, smart business. If you want to keep me in the dark...if you want to feed me unrealistic dates, fine, don't expect me to thank you for it.
  2. Bravo, well done defending them from my viscous unwarranted attack. You're right why should I, a customer, be informed about the product I purchased? Who am I to think some information could be rendered keeping me informed. So what if they said it would be done last month and then this month and then next week and then... The truth is, they do treat their deadlines "cavalierly." They do not keep their player base informed. These are things that I, their customer, am "entitled" to know. A deadline is NOT if possible, a dead line means it has to be done by this date. The phrase you're looking for is "we don't have a clue how long it will take. Maybe a week, maybe a month." As for my perceived responsibility toward lavishing "appreciation," they need to earn that. Not being able to get the job done within the timeframe that they themselves propose, three times in a row, should not leave them with the expectation of praise. They are being PAID to do the job they choose. That is the reward they are seeking, not my accolades. Acting as if a post holding their feet to the fire, that they created will demoralize them, is idiotically ignorant.
  3. This kind of crap makes it difficult to recommend or play this game. The few things that make we want to play, are soon outweighed by the irritation it foists on me. Its as if they want their own game to fail. All because of some aversion to informing their player base of basic knowledge.
  4. You wait until the day of the delayed date to delay it yet again? Brilliant...really, just brilliant, bravo on being so incompetent you don't even know what you're doing, as you do it. You literally have weeks to inform everyone as to your situation and nothing, zero, zip, zilch, nodda until the day is upon you. How about this...INFORM US! Let us know what's going on. By us, I mean your customers...remember us? Maybe one of you could spent fifteen minutes posting your progress once a week...once a week, is that too damn much to ask for? It would be nice if you stopped treating us like....
  5. Nawwww...sailing speeds are just right. After all one can't expect to be so engaged in this exciting game that they're unable to take the time to write a small novel while performing a mundane task.
  6. I have the solution...I don't know why I didn't think of this before. Raise open sea speed X3 and all the purists can just sail at 1/3 that speed. Problem solved. That way new players will be able to enjoy the game while the entrenched old timers can surf the web, errr, walk their dogs errrrr, write a novel wait...oh, sail from point A to point B and watch the sea foam correctly rendered.
  7. I hate to break it to you, but this is a video game...it's not the real world. Trust me...with the attitudes of the current responders this game will remain vacant. You will wish you came out of port and had to dodge 300 solos. Release will pose only a momentary reprieve from the anemic numbers. The biggest anchor dragging this game and its massively unplayable wasteland of empty sea is represented above. It's like trying explain colors to blind people. On a special not...you've spent days at sea? Wow...what a old sea salt you must be...days! Days...LOL. I have a pretty big pool and sometimes float on my inflatable raft for a few minutes...does that count as time at sea as well? btw...it's sailed or cruised or almost anything...not driven.
  8. Is it possible to delete skills so that I can try new ones?
  9. To begin with, people like the poster are not "complainers" nor are they trying to destroy the game. This poster is voicing an opinion that has been repeated time and time again. One that in his and my opinion keeps this game from retaining players. The problem is that this echo chamber of diehards would sacrifice the games health so that they can watch water splashing against their bows. The purists opinion is that the graphics (and the graphics are fantastic) will bring players to the game. In this they are right, but what they fail to understand is the graphics will not keep them in in game. They need to ask themselves if the population has increased. If it has I haven't seen it. I log on almost every night to the same number of players give or take 30. The bottom line is this game will not function properly or realistically with a low population. If this vast world is limited to a hand full of hotspots than why have one this size to begin with? As it is you could cut the western side of the map off and it wouldn't effect 99% of the players. The truth is that our current population would be better suited for a map constituting 15% of the one we have now. This expected population explosion is never going to happen because of the time constraints that open world travel foists upon the players. If you are happy with empty seas and low populations than by all means continue to gawk at the water splashing realistically against your bows. But don't ever wonder why the world is so un-realistically empty.

  10. Let me begin by saying the person who posted this (myself) is in no way affiliated with LAST. He (me) has been removed from the rosters and severely reprimanded, but not necessarily in that order. We (I) have clearly refused to state in the unwritten and non-verbal charters of LAST, that no member (meaning me) will attempt to persuade any other player to become a member of LAST. In his (my) defense I did not however break any unwritten and non-verbal rules because I (we) did in fact not attempt to recruit anyone. The fact is that I (me) attempted to dissuade players from joining. With this new information coming to light I (us) would like to reapply for re-admittance into LAST. Sadly though the rosters of LAST (being only me) are full. Very sorry for any misunderstanding...nothing to see here...move along.
  11. LAST (Loose Affiliation of Solo Talent) is not recruiting. We never were recruiting and never will recruit. We do not want you in our group and honestly only barely tolerate you and your ilk outside of our group. In fact there is no group...just me and I'm a total jerk. Only an insanely lonely malcontent would consider joining and I have no interest in working with someone like me, err ah, I mean like that...or anyone for that matter. RECRUITING PROCEDURE There is none...we (as in I) don't want you. QUALIFICATIONS The mere fact you would want to join is reason enough to dis-qualify you. LEADERSHIP POSITIONS None...it's me...just me...I'm king rat, the big cheese, numero uno, top guy, head honcho, his majesty...get it? No room for you, none, zero, zilch, squat, nadda, zip, all full, no vacancy. PERKS Are you really still reading this? Are you clueless as to what the answer is? NOTHING...you get absolutely diddily...god you're thick. OR MOTTO Thought this one up myself "LEAVE ME ALONE." I think it's kind of catchy, short but divisive. RULES OF THE CLAN None...and if there were rules I would have both made them and broken them. So I don't make any because I can't be trusted to follow any. 12. Having become a pirate through sheer incompetents and not paying attention. I would like to offer an idea on how to return from this black stain upon my person. Offered as a one time only option a pirate would be able to receive a letter of marque for his services from any country that would have him or her. 1) This offer would be generated randomly from one of the non-pirate nations. If the player doesn't wish to work for that random nation they may refuse, however they will remain a pirate till the end of that characters days. (In other words if you don't like who offered you the LoM and refuse...you stay pirate, no second chances.) 2) If the LoM is excepted then that player becomes a "Privateer" for that country. Any other nation can attack him or her but they are safe from attack from the host nation. They would fly a special flag so that every player would recognize them as a Privateer, including pirates. 3) They would have access to the hosting nations capital port only. They would be able to transfer their goods to that port. Or They could set up their own port at any neutral base. 4) To become a full fledged member of the new nation they must sink or capture five player character pirate vessels. 5) If they attack a host nations vessel than they forfeit all goods transferred and any ships currently based at that nations capital. In addition they may never petition to become a privateer for any nation, ever again. A few points I would like to make about this idea. 1) Yes a player could become a privateer just to attack that nations shipping, but it would only be that one time. I believe far more players would welcome the chance and use it as intended. 2) This would be an excellent way of populating nations with below average numbers. 3) It would introduce a historically accurate and currently omitted class. 4) There should be a way for players to leave the pirate nation.
  13. There are two factions in this game. Those that would make it as dull and tedious as possible and those that leave. Pathetically the former have the developers ear. In the face of anemic numbers and poor reviews they would have this game become even duller. They have already bored innumerable players away and now seek to remove all but those who can mindlessly stare at the back of a pixel ship as it sails through an empty pixel ocean, hour after hour after hour. So sure...go ahead and remove teleporting, heck I'm sure the six players remaining will be overjoyed to have the seas to themselves.
  14. LOL duplication...my bad.
