  2. Currently captains will be able to sail 3 masted ship brig. Of various performance characteristics. But we are reviewing options for adding more vessels for NPCs initially.
  3. We have not yet figured out plans for opening new sales for pre-orders. Current plan is to run a very small limited test for sailing model, combat and performance and then reopen limited sales to bring more testers into the project. Thank you Celioth for the interest. The support on this forum from the dev team will discontinue. Only steam forums will be officially supported by developers who might take over the project.   8. Current plan for closed beta is this All ships will be brigs from unarmed to 20-22 gun ships. But every ship will be so unique (and named) you wont recognize sailing and combat performance between them. Random colors are also planned. Ships will range from shabby leewardly boats that can sail 6 knots broad and can never finish "kempf maneuver" so unstable they are - to fast windwardly spectacular closed haul sailors than can lay still and straight like an old helmsman wife, and you as a captain will spend a lot of time searching for a perfect ship to your taste. Once this is all done and tested and optimized with you guys. We will then start adding more ships to AI But it all is still depending on how war in Ukraine goes. It is a miracle its being developed at all.

  15. great minds think alike ))) We actually had the 2 line system in NA in very early builds but removed it. We even were showing angle of inclination in number on both lines - due to constant movement and changing numbers it was causing confusion - mainly because in NA you cannot predict the ship roll and plan ahead. In Sea Legends there is a gradual realistic ship roll - Thus this system was reworked and improved.
  16. Not in the closed and open beta - after that we might consider it. As it is single player and not server based - players will be able to modify everything in relation to ship stats, damage stats prices etc. The most complicated part is modding ships (adding new ships) as they are extremely complex to add and tune for sailing due to the sheer amount of details in the physics and the model.

  22. Question to a history buffs Where any generally accepted cannon position numbering system during age of sail for crew management and commands? For example battleships all turrets had unified specific letters (british) or names (german) (often corresponding to letters) SMS Blücher Turret Names - Alsen, Bautzen, Cezilie, Düppel, Eylau, Fehrbellin. So captain could tell command to only Alsen Turret (turret A) How would a captain command to fire a 2nd gun and fourth gun from the bow for example? How would they report back that they are loaded?
  23. \ We tried it in UBOAT and did not like it at all (you have to come to every crew member personally EVERY every time you need something) - its fun for first couple of times, later it turns into a chore. Silent hunter 3 system is 10x better.
